Jen’s 2018 Top 10
Happy and Healthy New Year to all!
I would love to share my favorite products of 2018 that will stick with me as I move forward into 2019! While the last blog was all about inner work, the below are tangible items to do some outer work… propelling us forward into 2019 Health and Wellness!
Jen’s 2018 Top 10
This detergent is a game changer. Not only is it clean (toxic free), it smells so simple. There’s no overpowering smell of toxins that are put into many big box detergents out there. They also have an amazing blog with tips and tools for clothing care. Plus, if you sign up for their newsletter you get 20 percent off. My favorites are the signature detergent, whites detergent, and fabric softener!
2. Organic Bath Co.: Zesty Morning Organic Bath Butter:
Scented with a blend of pure organic essential oils, hand-crafted in small batches, 100% Organic Body Butter + an Award Winning Formula. Honestly, I even turned my dad on to this formula! It’s a great price point and a little goes a long way. Tip: Put it in your hands to warm up the cream, and then apply all over. I know you will see a difference. This is my Colorado (winter) MUST!
3. Nasaya Oil:
You know those mornings when you wake with the driest of noses and throats? This is the CURE! Natural, gentle and clean. A few drops before bed will give the your nasal passages the healing properties they need to ward off the dryness of cold winter months. I carry a bottle with me when I travel. Especially before I get on a plane when the air is so dry and so many unwanted germs are floating around. I call this my “virus” protection!
4. Magnesium Citrate Softgels:
This is a mineral that is critical for energy production and metabolism, muscle contraction, nerve impulse transmission, and bone mineralization. In other words... it helps with relaxing muscles, provides renewed energy, increases metabolism, and releases stress from the body. The other reason for taking Mag Citrate is it aids in moving our bowels. This is something I take every evening, and a great addition would be to take a epsom salt bath as well! Oh the relaxation! Remember, our bodies need restoration inside and out!
This probiotic comes in a blister pack for easy toting around. One of the benefits is that it does not need to be refrigerated. I always thought the refrigerated probiotics work better on the digestive tract. Not in this case. I find these to be very gentle and supportive in replenishing good bacteria back into your system. Great for moving your bowels as well.
6. Bob’s Redmill Oatmeal Cups:
For those of you who like oatmeal but hate preparing, this truly is a dream. ZERO sugar and filled with flax and chia seeds. It is the perfect on-the-go hot breakfast. I love that they add a pinch of sea salt… Add fruit if you like and your day has begun!
7. Raw Rev Glo Bars:
I can’t say enough about these bars! They come in other flavors, although this one is my favorite. Packed with protein and fiber… no fillers… just nutrient packed with goodness. I use these bars as a snack or an on-the-go breakfast. For me, they feel like a delicious treat!
8. Inward by Yung Pueblo:
This book speaks to me every morning. Daily Ritual: wake up to Inward next to my bed, open to a random page and allow the message to stay with me throughout the day.
Healing yourself will ask more of you….
More rest
More self-love
More letting go
More time for learning
More space for transformation
More honesty about how you feel
More time developing good habits
More courage to try new practices
More faith in yourself and the process
More time cultivating your inner peace
C’mon who doesn’t need a daily reminder?
9 . Kitchen Matters by Pamela Salzman:
I have provided you with Pamela’s website which is clean and beautiful -- like her foods -- and her art of cooking. She provides amazing preparation and cooking tips as well as online cooking classes and subscriptions. Check her out!
9. Cook it in a Cast Iron by Cooks Country:
Loving this ONE pan cookbook. It makes it really simple to prepare a nutrient-dense meal for yourself and your loved ones. I have been using my cast iron pan on the barbecue, stove top and in my oven. The pan is heavy but indestructible. The price point is amazing, and the key is that cast irons do not release toxins!
10. Cast Iron Pan:
I sent the set to my son in school and he loves it!!
With that… Cheers to the New Year and simple, sustainable changes. You got this!
Love,
