Water
I don’t know about you but I know water can definitely take a back seat during this time of uncertainty! Especially since any routine, schedule, structure is so off as we find our new norm!
It’s funny what takes the front seat… coffee, snacking, wine, that extra piece of chocolate, another cup of coffee… and water isn't even in the equation.
I believe water is essential to the 6 foundational principles of Health and Wellness. So, going forward let's give water a special seat in our daily lives. The time is now to build a healthy routine as supporting our immune system needs to be a priority.
You will be shocked that this small commitment will shift the overall health of your body.
Improving our bodies one drink at a time
Imagine a blocked drain, nasty waste ‘hanging around’, fermenting, smelly, and decomposing. What would you do to get rid of the waste? Hopefully, you would pour as much liquid down the drain to ‘flush’ the waste out.
This is just like a dehydrated, constipated body having to deal with the consequences of a C.R.A.P. (Carbohydrates, Refined Foods, Additives, and Preservatives) diet.
The Solution: Drink water to get things moving.
Fatigue is the number one symptom of a toxic body.
The biggest improvement that my clients notice when drinking the recommended amount of water is an increase in their energy, happy bowel movements, brighter skin, improved moods, and lower stress levels. All of these improvements combined result in a healthy immune system.
60 percent of the human body is water. Its main job is to deliver nutrients, hormones, and oxygen to our cells and then transport waste out of the body. If we are dehydrated, our blood plasma becomes sticky, thick and slows down. As a result, our entire transportation system malfunctions and has trouble keeping up with daily demands.
Water is also involved with aiding digestion. The digestive tract secretes up to 7 quarts of water a day to help maintain our gut pH. This, in turn, lubricates the walls of our intestines and keeps things moving smoothly.
I know you may still be thinking, “It’s so challenging to remember to drink water!” You can do it!
Think about the foods we ingest on a daily basis that cause bloating, fatigue, emotional imbalances, and skin issues, to name just a few. We make the time to eat sugar, gluten, drink alcohol while receiving negative effects.
It’s time to put the ritual of drinking water into your daily regime. Think of it as NON NEGOTIABLE, it just has to be done.
The Rule: Drink half your body weight in ounces of water.
Tips to Get Your Water In:
Drink ½ your body weight in ounces of water daily
Drink 8 ounces before your coffee
Prepare your water bottles for the day ahead
Place bottles around home for easy access
Squeeze fresh fruit into your water bottle
Set a reminder on your phone to drink, drink, drink
Time to drink up! Cheers!
